Small business marketing case study
DQ Technologies is a software developer located near Austin, Texas. The company sells order delivery tracking solutions to businesses with delivery or service vehicle fleets. DQ came to us looking to sharpen-up their marketing and brand persona.
SALES & PRODUCT BROCHURE DESIGN
Like most small businesses, DQ had been designing their sales and marketing collateral in-house. This has the advantage of keeping production costs low. But unless there’s capable design resources within the company, there’s a danger of negatively affecting brand perception.
After years of producing their sales and marketing materials in-house, DQ realized they needed to raise their game. That’s when they contacted us.
We set about defining visual guidelines in terms of color palette, typography, imagery, and layout. The goal was to create a series of product brochures that visually ‘belonged’ together.
We worked closely with the DQ marketing and sales teams on copywriting. As part of producing a unique set of visual assets for the company, we created a series of 3D-rendered images.
> NEXT: POWERPOINT PRESENTATIONS
POWERPOINT PRESENTATION DESIGN
Based from the work already completed for the brochures, the overall brand design and visual asset directions for sales and marketing collateral had already been defined.
It was then a case of creating a subset design language to apply to DQ Technologies’ PowerPoint® presentations.
The formula was simply: Bold visuals and less text, in order to maintain audience attention.
The presentation is there to support the presenter: not the other way around.
> NEXT: LOGO REDESIGN
DQ's company logo hadn't been updated in many years.
Originally created in-house, it was felt that the logo needed to be revised and updated to bring it more into line with the new visual brand identity we were developing for them.
The company's product line had grown from a single product to a range of solutions. We felt it was important to create a "family" feel for each product brand. The goal was that DQ customers would instinctively recognize a DQ product, even before they saw the DQ logo.
By specifying colors, balance, typography, and design structure we created a modern solutions presentation that serves the company today, as well as years into the future.
Following the visually-rich, bold graphic treatments used in the sales brochures and PowerPoint presentations, we designed the DQ website accordingly.
We SEO optimized each page for previously-researched keywords and keyphrases, updated page sitemap hierarchy, and configured the site to serve pages over https.
"Working with the KEXINO team has been a real pleasure"
“We first teamed up them in 2014 for some help with content and design, but over the years we have relied on them to help us with more and more of our marketing.
Over that time they have become a great partner for us. They have taken the time to understand our business, our products, and our customers; always delivering first class marketing materials that align with our goals.
Whenever I have a need I know I can reach out and they will deliver a great finished product, even better than I could dream up, on time and within my budget.”
